Connecticut Elks Past Exalted Rulers
Association |
|
This association has been organized to unite all of the Past Exalted
Rulers of Connecticut in close bonds of fraternal brotherhood, sworn to
assist in recommending and maintaining, through collective counseling,
the highest degree of leadership possible in their respective districts
of Connecticut and in their respective Lodges; To promote by good
example and general good works the interests of Elkdom in their
respective communities.
To exchange ideas on constructive leadership with the Exalted Rulers
of local Lodges.
To take action upon any matter affecting the welfare of the Order in
general. To give assistance in all the activities of the Connecticut
Elks association in promoting the Grand Lodge Programs.
To further good fellowship and true friendship among all the Past
Exalted Rulers in Connecticut.
ALL Past Exalted Rulers of Connecticut, who are in good standing in
their local Lodges are eligible for membership in this association
without election or other action by the association.
Dues are $10.00 per year from October 1st and ending September 30th
the following year.
We encourage all Past Exalted Rulers to join our association. A
member in good standing of this association has voting rights at the
Connecticut Elks Association conventions.
We meet twice a year in September and May (dates to be determined).

Association Meeting Held

The
CT Elks PER Association met on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the New
Britain lodge #957 for the purpose of the installation of officers and
the retirement of American flags. The day started off with a great meal
prepared by New Britain lodge ER Henry Zembko and his officers. The
PER's, Elk members and their guests then went outside to the flag
retirement ceremony that was led by CT PER Association President Robert
J. Ferrone, PER. Over 100 American flags were properly and honorably
retired.
After the flag retirement ceremony the PER'S retired to the meeting
room. A new slate of officers were voted on with Richard Kozek,PDD
elected as President. Phil Wilson, PSP, PDD swore in the new officers
(James J. Money,1st VP was absent).

Four Emeritus Awards from the VP's were presented to the: CEA State
Soccer Chairman Charlotte Stowe, PER, CEA State Communities Charities
Chairman J. Greg Benton, PER, CEA State Veterans Services Chairman
Richard R. Berthiaume, PER and CEA State Americanism Chairman David
Acanfora, PDD.
A few motions were voted on and passed:
To allow $500 for the purpose of a donation to the Connecticut
Children's Medical Center in Hartford,
To form an ad hoc committee for the purpose of donating monies to a CT.
state charity in addition to the CT School for the Deaf, and
The term 'Flag Burning" will no longer be used and will be now be know
going forward as "Flag Retirement".
To be an active member of the Connecticut Elks Past Exalted Rulers
Association you must be a paid up member in good standing. Dues consist
of $10.00 for the year. Checks can be made payable to CT Elks PER
Association and mailed to Secretary Brian Skonieczny at 34 Rivercrest
Drive, Plantsvile, CT 06479. Membership cards will be mailed upon
payment. If you are not sure if you have paid please email Brian at

Connecticut Elks
Association Past Exalted Rulers Voting Privileges

Remember that every PER
in your Lodge who is a member in good standing of the Connecticut Elks
Past Exalted Rulers Association has a vote at the Annual State
Convention. A member in good standing is one who has paid their dues for
the current Lodge year and one who can produce a valid CT Elks PER
Association membership card, which is also required to vote at the
Annual State Convention.
Past Exalted Rulers
who are not members in good standing with the Connecticut Elks Past
Exalted Rulers Association will not be permitted to vote at the State
Convention.
Past Exalted Rulers
wishing to have a vote at the Annual State Convention will in advance
have to pay their dues of $10.00. Checks can be made payable to CT
Elks PER Association and mailed to Secretary Brian Skonieczny at 34
Rivercrest Drive, Plantsvile, CT 06479.
