Eagle Scouts Recognition Banquet Held

The Derby(CT) Elks Lodge #571 held an Eagle Scouts Recognition
Banquet in Oxford, CT on January 3, 2012. Twenty three Eagle
Scouts were honored. The Derby Elks gave a donation of $250 to
the Housatonic Council B.S.A. and also
presented each Eagle Scout with a framed certificate and an
American Flag. The Housatonic Council B.S.A. serves the cities
of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour, and Shelton
(all within the Derby Elks
jurisdiction).

Supporting Our Troops

 DERBY—On
behalf of the Elks National Foundation, Derby Elks Lodge # 571
was the scene recently for a check presentation to the Support
Our Troops organization. The Support Our Troops organization (a
non-profit) provides requested items for our troops overseas.
Ann Donato,
a volunteer for the organization was on hand to receive a check
for $2000.00 from the Elks National Foundation’s Gratitude Grant
Program which will go towards the $2500.00 needed for postage
for the items being sent to our troops. Derby Elk members
