The Americanism Committee chaired by Joe Santostefano, along with members
Jim Brennan, John McCormack, and Joel Schloss collected and distributed over 300
gifts for the Veteran-in-Residence at the Rocky Hill Veterans Home and Hospital
for Christmas. A special "Thank You", to the Committee and all who contributed.
Middletown Elks received an unexpected Christmas gift. An American Flag was sent
to the Lodge from Capt. Christopher Strong and the soldiers of CT Army National
Guard Unit HHC 1-102nd Infantry currently serving in Ghanzi, Afghanistan. This
was sent to Lodge #771 in appreciation of care packages sent to the soldiers in
the Fall. Lodge #771 will be hosting a "Welcome Home" Dinner for the soldiers
upon their return home in the Spring/Summer of 2007. |
