Region 6 – New England Regional  “Hoop Shoot” Contest

Nashua, New Hampshire, March 24, 2007

Representing New England will be:        

8-9 year old Hannah Lempitsky from Connecticut (Enfield Lodge #2222)

8-9 year old Matt Doyle from Connecticut (Fairfield Lodge #2220)

10-11 year old Gabrielle Lavinio from Massachusetts

10-11 year old Makai Mason from Massachusetts

12-13 year old Becka Moriarity from Massachusetts

12-13 year old Matthiew St Amour from Vermont

Eleven year old Zach England from Wethersfield/Rocky Hill Lodge #2308 brings home a bronze third place trophy after losing second in a play off.  Nicole Kozlak from Torrington #372 tied for first in the 10-11 year old group but came away with the silver second place trophy in a play off.  Twelve year old Ryan Testani from Derby Lodge #571 placed fourth in his group as did Megan Gaudreau from Danielson Lodge #1706 after tying with five other contestants for second. 

The kids and their families enjoyed the weekend immensely and the kids represented their state in a commendable and praise worthy manner.

National Contest, Saturday, April 21, 2007 – 9:45 AM

Western New England College

 The contestants will begin arriving to the Springfield Sheraton Hotel, from around the country, on Thursday, April19, 2007 and after registering they can enjoy swimming and free time.  On Friday, registration continues and the kids can enjoy swimming, a “Get Acquainted” Party and a trip to the National Basketball Hall of Fame.  On Saturday the day begins with the “Breakfast of Champions” at the hotel and the contest will commence at the Western New England College at 9:45 AM. The day’s activities culminate with the Awards Dinner at the hotel starting 6 PM. Departure is Sunday April 25, 2007.
