The Connecticut Elks Association, through this committee, will distribute Community Charities Grant Awards to two deserving charities in each District. The first award will be for $1500.00 and the second for $1000.00.  Each Lodge in the district that met the Elks National Foundation goal for the year is entitled to nominate ONE local charity or community service group for consideration by this committee.

Below you will find the Community Charities Grant application for each district.  In filling out the application, please comply with the guidelines as stated on the application, and thoroughly document the reasons for your choice, as this documentation is the basis for selection by the committee.

I urge you to see that your Lodge participates in this worthy program, for, if your Lodge's nominee is selected for one of these awards, it will not only benefit your community, it will increase public awareness of the charitable works of Our Order and your Lodge.

2011 Community Charities Grants Awarded

By J. Greg Benton PER, Community Charities Committee Chairman

The Community Charities Committee had a hard time picking the winners this year as we received many more applications than in past years. This committee finds it very rewarding when we have a good number to choose from and see all the needy organizations that the Connecticut State Elks will help in some small way.

We had 5 from the Central District, 6 from the Coastal District, 5 from the East District and 6 from the Northeast District.  A great showing! The Committee would like to thank all the Lodges that applied and reminds Lodges to try again next year if your Lodge didn't receive a grant this year.
